Two new Lepidochrysops species are described from north-western Zambia, L. miniata sp. n. and L. yvonnae sp. n.

A specimen originally taken by the Hanekoms in Glenwood, Durban, KwaZulu-Natal is described, with comment on likely parentage.

Certain butterfly species have appeared to move southwards from time to time. Records indicate that some have established themselves on a permanent basis while others have disappeared from the newly inhabited areas. Appias sabina phoebe appears to have been moving southwards over the past fifty years and aspects of the biology of this species in the Republic of South Africa are discussed.
